High School Wrestling Has Started

Which means all I'm doing is teaching, watching wrestling and getting ready for Christmas.  This was parents' night.

The team is growing!

You can tell who is who because Samuel's head gear is red and Thomas's is yellow.

Thomas had a bit of a rough start when two freshmen decided to take him down while warming up for the first meet of the season.  He landed on his elbow funny and over extended it.  He had to be no contact for a week but he's back and going at it now.  He's had a couple good wins and a couple tough losses but seems fairly happy with himself so far.

Samuel is doing great!  He has three losses I think, all to kids who medaled at state last year.  Yesterday he scored his 100th win which was fun.

The little boys are practicing but won't compete until January.  And joy of joys they are both at the same practice time this year!!  Woot!

Continuing His Amazing Year

Samuel was inducted into National Honor Society.  He's been in it awhile but they do the official induction senior year. There was an all school Mass that parents and grandparents were invited to and then a luncheon for the families.
I thought I'd steal a nicer picture off the school's Facebook page but Samuel isn't looking in that picture either.

Thankful for So Much

Face Lift

After a hail storm um, at least two years ago we got the okay from our insurance company that they would cover new siding.  We decided to put in new windows on the main level (upstairs was done years ago) and a new kitchen door too.  After quite a few weeks of work (the guy who did it says our house was his hardest ever due to all the nooks and crannies) it's finished!!

I'm running out of time I'll have to look for a before picture later....

During:

After:

Now for more inside work.

Got the Kids' Pictures Done!

Here are the runner ups.
I didn't take Samuel's of course.  Photo credit to Coach John!

And this summer my friend Melissa did a family picture for us.

The winning pictures will be featured on our Christmas card as usual.

Football is Officially Over

The high school team was super happy to make it to the state playoffs!  They lost in the first round but came really close to an upset.  The seniors have had four coaches in four years so I'd say that was a pretty good accomplishment.  Sam was pretty sad in the moment but I'm sure he'll look back on his football career with happy memories overall.

There's a lady who took pictures at both the high school and Beef games so here's what I stole off her facebook page.

Philip ready to go

Guess which one is Philip.....yup.  The shortie with the tall socks on the left.

Lined up next to each other ready to go

And with that we move on to wrestling.

Marching Band

It's not easy to be a varsity football player and be in marching band as well but both the older boys do it!  I'm glad they enjoy both activities.  Watching the marching band is right up my band geek/flag line girl alley.
Their show this year is Espionage and it's great as usual.  So far they have received a 1 rating at all three of their competitions with just the State Bandmasters competition left.

Band seniors

Band Juniors
Yay for band parents who take more pictures than I do!
