Happy Easter!

Our Easter this year is a long story but Alleluia! He is risen, He is risen indeed!

Holy Week

We dyed eggs this year.

Philip worked on peanut butter chocolate eggs.

I got a wild hair and tried a new roll shape.

 Julia helped with the lamb rolls.

We now interrupt this regularly scheduled Holy Week for a severe injury.

Thomas

Thomas hurt his hand in a lawn mower accident on Saturday.  He's okay but he lost the top of his middle finger on his right hand.  We have a doctor appointment Tuesday to see how it's healing and what the plan going forward is.

He's Prepared

For what I'm not sure.  But he's ready.

Not Your Way

M:  Nicholas, maybe your rescue bots would like to rescue the saints today.
N:  No we aren't going to play that.....Mom!  I know!  The saints could go on the mountain and one of them could fall and the rescue bots could rescue them!
M:  Wow.  Great idea.

Yard Work

Jeremy brought home a tractor to pick up a large branch that broke off our big tree in the back.  Almost everyone enjoyed some time riding along.  Julia and Philip rode too.

This is not the whole branch.  There was a lot more of it!

Philip Informs Nicholas

Nicholas's teacher told me the other week that he busted out singing while they were doing their work.  I asked him what song and he said "Anakin guy" (Weird Al's parody of American Pie- he knows all the words of the chorus and a little bit of the verses.)  Later we were talking about singing at school for some reason and Philip pipes up, "Well Nicholas, you are going to be doing a lot of singing at school.  And it's not going to be Anakin guy."

Got the Basketball Hoop Back Up

Now maybe we won't have to listen to Samuel playing with the little hoop in his room so much.  He doesn't just shoot up there, he dribbles.  A lot.

Birthday Celebrations

We celebrated Julia and Philip's birthdays last weekend.  Julia wanted a Moana theme but I wasn't going anywhere that would have Moana stuff so she graciously agreed to have a sea theme instead.  My mom made the lovely cake.  The girl does love tiers.  Philip wanted a St. Patrick's day theme and we found this cute and easy cake.  He wanted two layers which I'm not great at frosting but since the picture had stars piped all over it I decided I could handle it.

They both enjoyed opening their presents.

 And Aunt Beth opened a couple early ones too.  She was very excited about her hammer and toaster!

Happy 9th birthday Julia and Happy 7th birthday Philip!  We love you!
