I Feel So Safe

Nicholas informed me of these gems:

N:  Mom, if Darth Vader comes to our house I will spider climb up the wall and kick him in the face!

Rest in Peace

The little tractor of "ert, we're dair" fame, has given up the ghost.  Samuel received it for his first birthday and it has been well loved ever since.  A reenactment of the video that made the tractor famous is available by request at this point.  We made it without watching the original though so we need to pull the tractor back out of the trash and make it more authentic.  If y'all are lucky, I'll post both videos some day.

It was already 3 years old in this picture.  Watch out for the cuteness.

One boy bottom barely fits where both used to.  I can't decide if that's sad or not.

The fenders are long gone, the little piece to keep you from falling off the back is broken off, the bottom broke out and the back piece spins.  Long ago it had a smoke stack and little picket fence sides too.  Daddy has fixed it lots of times.  Time to let it go.

Philip's First Communion

Philip received his First Holy Communion last Sunday!  Our church is being renovated so we are having Mass in our hall indefinitely.  It feels like a perpetual retreat Mass.  But whatever.  Jesus is still in the Eucharist, even when the building is ugly and echo-y.

We celebrated his birthday too and he was fortunate enough to get two cakes!

We also celebrated all the April birthdays just a smidge.

My favorite Mass depiction.  The bread and wine are on the outside but you lift it up to see what is really happening, all the angels and saints are gathered with Jesus at the crucifix with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

Philip, we pray you will always believe Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist and receive Him often and with as much excitement and love as you received Him for the first time on this day!

Party Time

Julia hosted her very first sleepover party.  It was a success!  They had tea parties, dance parties and lots of fun!  Happy Belated Birthday Julia!

Helping Daddy

Working on the basement bedroom.  It's now two shades of green and looks really nice.  Next step, trim and flooring.  Don't hold your breath.

Am I Behind?

Have you heard of Tim Hawkins?  He's a Christian comic.  His stand up is so so.  His parody songs are hilarious. He also does a bit on Atheist Children's songs that I got a good laugh out of.

Holy Saturday Preparations

Daddy shaved!  I don't think Nicholas remembers seeing him without a beard!

Samuel made the lamb rolls, Thomas made butterfinger bars for after the Vigil, Philip made Easter M&M cookies, Julia boiled eggs with wrappers from Michelle in the Ukraine, Jeremy polished the holy water bucket (its official name is what?) and the littles dyed eggs.

 We did a couple crafts too.  Mostly begrudgingly but whatever.  I like how they turned out!

Holy Thursday/ Good Friday Preparations

Samuel apparently made a holy martini.

 And no serious injuries during Holy Week this year.  Woohoo!
