Track

The three older kids have been enjoying track.  All three mostly throw, although Sam often runs the 200, 400 or relays.

So far we've only made it to see Thomas.

He gotten PRs at a few meets so sounds like he's doing well!
We hope to see the other two soon!

Rockin' out

The little boys enjoyed putting on a Rock and Roll show for their spring concert.  We're pretty sure this is third time we've seen it but I also think Mrs. Mattson cut out one song per grade because we were home exactly an hour after the show started.  Why weren't they that short when I was wrangling littles?!

Philip got to play in the "band".

and he's singing in the second row all the way to the right.

Nicholas sang with his shades on. Rocking the look dude!

This is Nick's friend Ainsley.

Philip was a student manager so he had to help clean up.  Why'd they put the short kid on the ladder?

Nice program boys!

Prom

Both boys had a date to prom this year.

Samuel went with his friend Alexis.

It was nice but super windy, hence the bottom right picture.

Thomas went with his friend Amanda.

Julia and I went to the picture sessions and enjoyed picking our favorite dresses.  The junior girls won, with Kya in the light blue (second collage, bottom right picture, second row all the way to the right)  winning over all best dress from Julia and I.

Samuel was on prom court and then much to my (but apparently not to others') surprise, he got prom king!  Carly Zwick was queen.

My favorite comment from him was "I can't believe how many people came up and said, 'I voted for you!'"  Well kid, you won.  That means lots of people voted for you.
I can't say I was the most excited mom about him winning but I am proud of him for being a nice enough kid that others wanted to vote for him.  Congrats Samuel!

The night of the FFA banquet there was a dress rehersal for district music.

And then at districts their quintet got a Superior!  Great job clarinet section!

Before:

Found this gem
And this one

And this remnant of what was here when we moved in
Good thing all that wall paper was holding the plaster together....

In progress:

Jeremy's made some progress since these pictures.  The ceiling drywall is up so it's moving along!

Newly Catholic!

I was so happy to be Becca's sponsor when she entered the Church at the Vigil!

Congratulations Becca!

Holy Week and Easter Prep

For whatever reason Julia and Nicholas REALLY wanted to make unleavened bread.
Note for future:  It should be much flatter.

There was all the fun Easter treat prep.

And egg dying too.

Ready for Easter!

State FFA

Samuel received his State degree at State FFA this year.  It was the first time he was able to go to the convention because he wasn't in FFA as a freshman and it was cancelled/virtual because of Covid the last two years.

He came in first out of hundreds of competetors in Farm management systems and recieved a scholarship which is great...except the scholarship is specifically to CASNR (the UNL ag college) and while Samuel has decided to go to UNL he won't be in ag.  He's majoring in Chemical Engineering.  Great job Samuel anyway!
Samuel has really enjoyed FFA and being president this year.  Congrats on all your hard work!
