Thanks for the orchard fun Grandma and Grandpa!
Most of the fam enjoyed an orchard trip together.
Philip worked very hard to pick these raspberries. He told me, "A man gave me a tip. Find a ripe berry (he shows me one on a bush), lift it up and whoop! more!" (lifts berry to reveal more ripe ones underneath the leaves).
Since Julia was going home from the orchard with Grandma Susan Thomas spontaneously invited Augustine home with us. They had a grand time in boy heaven. I actually hardly saw any of them Saturday after we got home. They were out in the yard the whole afternoon!

Happy Birthday Mary!
Nothing like a good cookie Rosary to celebrate Mary's birthday. Also I notice the cookies get eaten a bit slower because you are required to pray a Hail Mary for every cookie. Apparently that makes some people think twice about indulging.

Philip's New Favorite Activity
Tree climbing.
Seriously Child, we just celebrated one year of no stitches. Let's go for two! I'm not sure tree climbing is going to help you achieve this goal. The Aunt-O-Fun visited for a Saturday and helped Nicholas with some climbing too (along with lots of other fun-ness).
Julia has enjoyed climbing as well but the picture I have of her just isn't flattering.
What Nicholas has been Up To
Haven't done this baking soda and vinegar activity in awhile. Kept him busy for 15 minutes!
He is also now just the right size to go retrieve things from behind the counter for me.Julia
Found this cute note waiting for me on Julia's desk when we went to Curriculum night the first week of school.
Happy Birthday Samuel!
August was a rough month around here and I just haven't felt like blogging. But it's September now so I'll catch up on a few things...such as my oldest son's birthday.
We celebrated at home with a peanut butter pie on his real birthday. Sounded amazing, so-so in reality. See how we made the 12? Yep, his birthday is off season from everyone else's so the pickings were slim!
He got a nice football to replace his falling apart one.He picked this out as his gift from Grandma Susan and Grandpa Mike. He will fit in nicely with all the other 6th graders. Especially if he wears it in below zero weather.
Bob and Melissa gave him this nice shirt.
Apparently my mom owed Thomas a birthday gift also. With his birthday so soon after Christmas sometimes he just doesn't have anything he wants or needs for his birthday so she waited to give him a gift. You may not believe it by the look of amazement on his face but it's an electric toothbrush. With a recharger so he doesn't have to worry about the batteries always being dead. Woot!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday Samuel. We are enjoying watching and helping you grow into a wonderful young man! Love you!
